Welcome at GRAEBEL GEIGENBAU – Your Violin Maker at Heidelberg.

You can find GRAEBEL GEIGENBAU studio and shop at Heidelbergs's old town beginning January 3 rd 2009.

As a skilled violin maker, I repair, restore, and build stringed instruments, as well as sell them and their accessories.

I was born in Hannover in 1974 and I´ve been a cello player since I was eight years old. In 1994, I started an apprenticeship as violin maker in Markneukirchen/ Vogtland County.
I studied under the guidance of Nils Polster in Egestorf from May to November 1997. To completed my apprenticeship I was examined by the Handwerkskammer Hannover (Chamber of Crafts), under its chairman Christian Erichson.
After the apprenticeship, I worked in Borstorf with Christian Brosse, in Hannover with Christian Erichson, in Dinkelsbühl with Thomas Hummel, and finally in Heidelberg in the studio of Tobias Gräter. My main shop you can find in Wuerzburg.

I´m looking forward to your visit,
